Edward I. Burson

Edward Irvin Burson entered into the presence of his Heavenly Father on January 6, 2015. Born on July 14, 1934 in Memphis, Edward and his wife, Bobbie, would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on February 13th. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Deborah Gardner; and his grandson; Jamie Vickers. He leaves his loving wife, Roberta (Bobbie); a daughter, Karen Griffin; his grandson, Eddie Vickers, who was like a son to him; and grandson, Chris Griffin. He also leaves his best friend, Britt Lowe. Mr. Burson was a British motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding his antique BMW. The last time he rode was to church on his 80th birthday in July. He loved motorcycles and passed that love and passion for motorcycles to his grandson, Eddie. He was a member of Colonial Baptist Church and a former longtime Member of Merton Avenue Baptist Church. The family will gather with friends on Friday, January 9, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue.
