Ed and I were each other's first love. We've been friends for 33 years. He's one of my best friends so there will forever be a hole in my heart. I'll miss his humor, charisma, guidance, intellect, gratitude, and his simple love of being around people he cared about. He wouldn't miss a gathering at my house. How am I going to live the rest of my life without Ed?

I worked with Ed for 19 years total, at the Sheriff's Office then with Shelby County Government. He was the most technically precise person I think I have worked with. A lot of people will say that he wasn't a people person, but I say he was. It was just Ed's way! To know him is to know he did things Ed's way! I don't know if I shared with him that I finally won a Fantasy Football League championship. It wasn't in Ed's league though, a league that I was in for about 16 years. It is funny that although it was a Fantasy league, Ed gave me the opportunity to meet and become friends with the REALEST bunch of guys in town. That was Ed's way!! You are already missed Bro!!

I worked with Ed for some time. He was always there to answer any question I may have had even when he was out of the office.
He was such a beautiful person. He will be missed.
Rest In Peace Ed.

Edwin was always the ultimate example to me. Most of what I've aspired to be came from looking up to him. The majority of my interests in my youth, my vision of who I wanted to be, even the way I tried to relate to the world around me, all this came from my view of him. He was my inspiration, and he was my hero. He was the Best Man at my wedding (and actually saved that wedding when he went running for the rings I'd forgotten) and that was fitting, because he's always been MY best man, even without a wedding. I will miss him sorely.

Working with Ed was truly a pleasure. He was very knowledgeable in many areas and always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. I am thankful for the opportunity to have had him on our team.
