Elizabeth Hammons Chisholm

ELIZABETH NEOLA CHISHOLM, celebrated 85 years of life and passed peace- fully on Christmas Day, 2011 - the birthday of God incarnate and her new birthday in Heaven. She joins her special parents, Lucian Hammons and Eldis Park Barnes Hammons. She reunites with her husband of 22 years, veteran Maurice Chisholm who died in 1988. Her beloved daughter, Teresa Lynn Vinson, preceded her to Heaven in 1998. Liz Neola was an avid reader of mystery and intrigue and a huge fan of John Wayne movies along with musical and other classics. She loved country settings and was an expert in family meals. Her first husband, Andrew D’Amore and father of her six children, preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters, Mary Kleber (Jim), Ann Kennedy (Jerry), Rita Anderson (Dwight); and sons, David D’Amore (Mabel) and Gene D’Amore (Teresa). She was blessed by 15 grandchildren: Cherie, Gary, Karla, Mike, Mary, Matt, Mason, Jeff, Jason, Mark, Lori, Candice, Ashley, Jennifer, and Elizabeth. She was gifted by 23 great-grandchildren: Drew, Christian, Kaylie, Greyson, Lorelei, Kerri, Kirk, Wesley, Anthony, Jenna, Luke, Ryan, Sophia, Clint, Dalton, Abigail, Reagan, Davis, Elizabeth, Austin, Eli, Marshal, and Payton. The blessings continue with two great-great-grandchildren: Kayla and Jakob. She also leaves sisters, Dorothy Ehrett, Linda McClure (Melton) and Hammons; brothers, Jasper (Shirley), Marc, Gene (Emily), Don (Nancy), and Ray (Wanda). She rejoins baby brother, James Paul Hammons and young brother, Roger Wayne Hammons. Visitation will be at Memphis Funeral Home And Memorial Gardens, 5599 Poplar, on Thursday, December 29, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, December 30, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home And Memorial Gardens and followed by burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donation memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis and Baptist Trinity Home Care and Hospice in Collierville.
