Elizabeth M. Steele

Elizabeth M. Steele passed away peacefully at the age of 91, after a long illness on June 11, 2018. Visitation will be held Thursday June 14, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., and the service will be held Friday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Avenue. She retired from AT&T after 48 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Boyd K. Steele, Sr. and her parents, Dr. James McDavid and Eva McDavid Vaughn. She loved Adrian Rogers, QVC, and chocolate. She is survived by her sons: Boyd, Jr (Sandra) and James (Cheryl), and her three grandchildren: Lauren Elizabeth, Hannah Grace and Jamie Lynn. The family wishes to thank the staff at Olive Grove Terrace Olive Branch, where she resided for the past several years, for their kindness and care during her stay. They also wish to thank the ICU staff at Methodist Olive Branch for their compassion and comfort for her and the family during her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
