Elizabeth Welch

Elizabeth P. Welch, 89, born in Macon, TN on June 28, 1921, passed away at home December 19, 2010. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 12 – 1:30 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Poplar Chapel. A private graveside will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Welch graduated from Somerville High School in 1937. She was a lifelong member of Whitehaven Baptist Church as well as a variety of dinner clubs, garden clubs, and the ladies auxiliary of the Home Builders Association. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Waymon H. Welch Sr. She is survived by her son Waymon H. Welch Jr.; and her daughter, Ginger Cheryl Welch McCullar; her 4 grandchildren, Dawn W. Kinard, Danya L. Welch, Clay McCullar, Barry McCullar, and her 4 great-grandchildren Taylor L. Kinard, Ty W. Kinard, Cheyanne McCullar, and Patton McCullar. She was attentively provided the utmost care by Natarsha Reid for the last three years of her life. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
