Ella Mae Hasty, 99, died May 15, 2011. A Memphian since early childhood, she was predeceased by her husband, Raff Hasty. She was employed by A.T.& T., later South Central Bell, for 38 years. Skilled in making ceramics, she was one of the organizers of the Memphis Ceramics Association and served as the second president of the group. She had a ceramics shop in her converted garage, and taught the art until her illness in September 2010. Mrs. Hasty was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011. Visitation will follow at First Presbyterian Church at 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at the church at 4:00 p.m. The family requests that memorials be sent to First Presbyterian Church 166 Poplar Avenue Memphis, Tennessee 38103.
