Erika Nicole Nelson

Born on January 10, 1979, in Meridian, Mississippi, Erika was one of four children born to Gary and Sherrye Nelson. She graduated from Elliston Baptist Academy in Memphis, Tennessee

Erika then moved to West Memphis where she began her career in food service. She worked at Sonic and became one of their managers and has been in the restaurant business ever since.

She loved to be outdoors. Erika loved to fish, be at the beach, and loved animals of all type. Erika and her son Nickolas would spend many days at the Memphis Zoo together. Sports were a passion as well enjoying football and baseball including the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved to make people laugh and feel good. She would walk into a room and be the life of the party.

Erika was preceded in death by her mother Sherrye Nelson.

Her memory lives on with her beloved son whom she adored Nickolas Paul Marotti of West Memphis, Arkansas; her father Gary Nelson, Sr. of Bartlett, Tennessee; brother Gary (Kathryn) Nelson, Jr. of Germantown, Tennessee; her two sisters Amy (Justin) Mullen of Bartlett, Tennessee and Victoria (John) Faith of Bartlett, Tennessee; and her nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be announced in a few weeks.
