

Born on August 1, 1953, in Brinkley, Arkansas, to the late Earnest Gilliam, Sr. and Willie Mae Gilliam, Eddie led a life marked by service, compassion, and generosity. He was among the first paramedics in the state of Arkansas, a role that reflected his lifelong dedication to helping others. He later earned his Master’s degree and became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), continuing his commitment to care and healing.
Eddie was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and humble nature. He never hesitated to lend a hand to those in need, and he found joy in giving. To those who knew him, he was a quiet hero, someone who lived not for recognition, but to make a difference.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved son, Will Gilliam.
He is survived by his son, Trent Gilliam and wife Amber; his cherished grandchildren, Jon, Ella, and Everlee; and his sister, Debbie Gilliam Franklin and her husband Terry.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
