Genia is survived by her mother, Mary Carolyn Maiorino of Germantown, her husband of nearly 40 years Stephen Kevin Tidwell, son Dmitry Kelly Tidwell of Collierville, sister Tonya Marie Carr (Lee) of Germantown, TN, nephews Christian Carr (Emily) and Jesse Carr. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Anthony Maiorino of Memphis.
Genia was born on May 3, 1960 to Carolyn and Tony Maiorino in Memphis. She attended Memphis area schools graduating from Memphis Prep, Memphis State University, and University of Tennessee as a physical therapist.
Genia was passionate about many things. She loved to sing especially in her church choirs. She had a very creative side and spent time making jewelry and doing paintings on canvas that she sold at local shows. She loved to crochet, doing many blankets for charity as well as gifts for her family. Genia was known for spoiling her Westie dogs Wesley and Gracey. Genia made many friends in the neighborhood from striking up conversations during their daily walks.
Funeral Services will be Saturday morning at Collierville First Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 and the Service at 11:00. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Collierville, TN.
