Evelyn Shelton

Evelyn Landry Shelton, age 99, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2020. Evelyn was born on August 11, 1921 in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. She graduated from St. Gabriel High School and attended Louisiana State University.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Emile and Laura Landry; husband, Thomas H. Shelton, Sr.; and sisters, Sadie Marie, Emma Rhea, Dorothy "Dot", and Laura "Toodles".

She retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Shelton, Tommy Shelton (Patty), and Patricia Morgan (Matt); grandchildren, Shannon Allen, Christy Smith (Hank), Kimberly Mashburn (Sam), Stephen Shelton, Christina Griffith (Lou), and Robert Carson (Alicia); and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Ashton, Brayden, Colton, Ellie Faye, Liam, Nora, Morgan, Brody, Millie, and Masiey.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 22 with visitation at 11:00 AM and funeral mass at 12:00 PM, all at Catholic Church of the Resurrection, 5475 Newberry Avenue, Memphis, TN 38115. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.
