

Everett Durell Tutor, 90, of Colorado, Florissant. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, at Memphis Funeral Home in Memphis, TN, with the Rev. John Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Chickasaw County, Miss. Mr. Tutor died Tuesday at his residence. The family will receive visitors from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Tutor, a Houlka, MS, native, was a longtime Memphian who worked as a mechanical engineer and plant manager before his retirement. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran, having served in Detachment 101 of the Office of Strategic Services in the China-Burma-India theater during World War II. As a tech sergeant in the O.S.S., Mr. Tutor led missions and was trained in the repair and construction of military radio devices. Before enlisting in the military, Mr. Tutor studied at the University of Chicago. Mr. Tutor was a longtime member of St. James United Methodist Church in Memphis, and later Crossroads United Methodist Church in Collierville. Mr. Tutor is survived by two daughters, Lucy Ridgeway of Seabrook, Texas; and Wanda Beach, of Florissant, CO, and her husband Charlie; and three sons, Phillip Tutor, of Anniston, AL, and his wife, Laura; Richard Tutor, of Greenville, N.Y., and his wife Susan; and James Clark, of New Albany, MS, and his wife Bonnie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Amy Lamb of Melbourne, Australia, and her husband Billy; Joanna Nagy, of Panama City, FL, and her husband Mike; Andrea Cox, of Memphis, and her husband Preston, Graham Tutor, of Memphis, and his wife Amanda; Nicholas Tutor, of Anniston, AL; Victoria Tutor, of Anniston, AL; Reed Clark, of Faulkner, MS, and his wife Shannon; and Rayf Clark, of New Albany, MS, and his wife, Stephanie. Mr. Tutor is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Tutor was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Sue Tutor; his parents, Lois and Elvis Tutor; his brother, Lloyd Tutor; and his sister, Lou Dena Tutor. Pallbearers will be friends and family members.
