Fannye Stollard Smothers, 91 passed away November 29, 2018. She graduated Southside High School in Memphis. A very devout Christian, she was a long time member of Schoolfield United Methodist Church and more recently a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church. She and her husband were proud owners of Littlefield Jewelers, 4531 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee for more than 55 years, where they worked side by side fulfilling a lifelong dream serving generations of customers who became a part of their extended family, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She found her greatest joy in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Smothers; mother, Nina Stollard; sister, Mary Wiles and a brother, Harry Stollard.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Lee) Gillock and Jill Lucchesi; grandchildren, Amber Gillock, Cortney (William) Konves, Morgan (Matthew) Thompson, Chandler Duffel and Nicholas Lucchesi and one great-grandchild, William Konves.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 4 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar from 5-7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 5 at 1 p.m. at Colonial Park United Methodist Church, 5330 Park Avenue, Memphis. Memorials in honor of Mrs. Smothers may be offered to the American Heart Association.
