Fern Louise Alden Powers, age 87, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Quince Assisted Living and Rehab in Memphis. She was an avid bowler where she was a member Oldies But Goodies and Sexy Seniors Bowling Leagues, was a lifetime member of Memphis USBC and WIBC. Fern was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and retired from the IRS. Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband Russell M. Powers and is survived by her daughters Judy Leahy (Tom) and Marlene Snyder; son Al Powers (Sue); grandchildren John Snyder, Scott Powers and Sara Powers-Engler. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Friday March 4, 2011 and a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday March 5, 2011 both at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens-Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. The interment will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday March 8, 2011 at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.
