Frances Dale was the only child of the late Eugene and Christine Brieger, of Quitman, MS. Frances grew up surrounded by all of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. Frances attended and was the Valedictorian at Misses Howard’s School for Girls in Birmingham, AL. The University of Alabama offered her a full scholarship.
Frances married Lauren K. Harris and they had four children. After the death of Lauren, Frances studied to become an X-ray technician. She was married to the late John E. Barton and she had two more children. They made their home in Jackson, MS.
Later, Frances moved to Dallas and worked at Parkland Hospital. In Dallas, she met and was married to the late Vernon Moore. They lived in Dallas, then Long Beach, CA, and eventually landed in Memphis.
Frances was a very active member of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN, where she made many wonderful friends. She volunteered her time and efforts on many occasions. Frances always made a point to regularly call or visit friends who lived alone or were sick. Frances had a wonderful sense of humor and had a gift of making those around her laugh. Her legacy is the countless stories that will be shared endlessly by friends and family alike.
Frances leaves behind her six loving children, Emelie Foster, Larry Barton (Linda), Chris Barton (Linda), Shellie Phillips (Jerry), Lisa Cook (Gary), and John Barton (Lourdes). She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She also loved and considered Mary Jane Gibson her daughter.
Her family wishes to thank her many friends throughout the years and the wonderful people at Bright Glade.
