Myra Frances Oliver, 75, of Memphis passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 after a short illness. Frances was born January 25, 1941 in Memphis, to John Paul and Mamie Jones. She graduated from Central High School in 1959 and studied design at Memphis State University.
Frances worked as an interior designer in Memphis for 45 years, including a time as an owner of Designs Unlimited Inc. She loved her career choice and felt privileged to have worked with some of the most creative and artistic people in the city.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister, Bessie Marie Mooney, and two brothers, James Edward and Richard Michael Jones.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert Charles Oliver; her three children, Steven Dennington, Lance (Tammy) Oliver of Memphis and Kef (Brian) Howard of West Virginia; her grandchildren Alexander, Lily Rose, Carson, Connor, Luke, Coryn and Sawyer and many extended family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Frances never met a stranger and was able to light up a room with her wit, smile and joyful laugh. She touched many lives and will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. till service time at 3 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2017 at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., with burial to follow at Memphis Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
