Frank “Frankie” Rose, Sr., also affectionately known as “Papa” and “Thank”, 62, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and enjoyed spending time with his family as well as coaching baseball in Gaisman Park. Mr. Rose was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Doris Mae Rose. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Rose; one daughter, Angela Rose; two sons, Frank Rose, Jr. and Cory Rose; one sister, Donna Headden; two brothers, Johnnie Rose and Alvin Rose; and three grandchildren, Destiny Tackett, Madison Tackett, and Gracie Rose. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, December 21 at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., beginning at 9 am until his memorial service starts at 10 am. The family asks that any memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
