

Fred Ray “Buddy” Key, 78, of Memphis, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010. A lifelong Memphian, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retired from Memphis Light, Gas & Water, as well as founder of Raleigh Tire Service, Inc. He was a much loved and respected husband, father and grandfather and a great void will be left in the lives of all who knew and loved him. He was a member of Raleigh United Methodist Church, Raleigh Lodge #770, VFW as well as Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, S.J., USA. Preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Wooten Egbert, he is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Myra H. Key and leaves his daughters, Kathryn Key Fitzpatrick and Judy Key Thomas (Tracy), 5 grandchildren of whom he was very proud, David Dustin Wooten (Pamela), Sean Key Fitzpatrick (Kathryn), Tiffany Thomas Cline, Tabitha Amber Thomas and George Tanner Thomas (Judy); and his brother, Neil Gill (Jean). Visitation will be Friday, March 12, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., and services on Saturday, March 13, at 11 A.M. at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Chapel, with burial in Jackson, TN at Brown’s Church and Cemetery.
