Garry Russell Hobbs

Garry was born on October 29, 1959 to the late Cephas and Annie Sue (Tharp) Hobbs, Sr. He attended school in Memphis, Tennessee and worked in construction and drywall.

Garry was married to Mrs. Lorrie Tanzella Walker Hobbs since August 10, 2012. Since they married, Lorrie has been by his side since they said; "I DO"!!

Garry enjoyed the chaos of all family gatherings and the holidays having all the grandchildren together.

Garry was our coves "Neighborhood Watch" and he will be greatly missed by all of our neighbors who truly loved him very much! He will be missed by many friends as Garry never met a stranger.

Along with his parents Garry was preceded in death by his brothers Cephas Hobbs Jr. and Johnny Hobbs; and his grandparents.

Mr. Garry R. Hobbs is survived by one son Benjamin Earl Hobbs, his daughter in law Dr. Teralyn G. Hobbs, and two grandsons Dominic and Roman Hobbs, of Pearl City, Hawaii. All are left to mourn his passing along with his former wife, Ms. Terri Mills Watts of Memphis.

Garry's memory is also carried on by his wife Lorrie; 5 step-children and their children Toni Walker and her children Aubrey (Precious), Ian (Big Guy), Alexandria (Lexie) and Avaleigh (Ava); Deena (Norman) Harrison and their children Jacob, John (Catfish) and Zelda (Shug); Addie Walker; Willy (Kim) Walker and their children Dakota, Logan, Austin, Wesley, Landen and Hayden; Krystyne (TJ) Johnson and their children Aniya (Princess), Khaliya (Peanut) and Ensley (Ennie). Garry had many children who called him PaPa and those children are Hannah, Sally, Freedom and Ryann. His surviving siblings are his brother Everett (Bubba) and his wife Charlene, his sister Ester Annice (Sis) and her husband who has passed away Danny DePriest and his brother Bill and his wife Ann Hobbs.

The greatest joys were the dogs Daisy, Dolly and Clover and his many grandchildren and all the children who called him PaPa and his many friends.

Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing memories on Thursday, October 29 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38122.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donor's make any contributions to the charity or organization of their choice.
