Gerald Arthur Drane, affectionally known as “Jerry” his whole life, was born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 23, 1949, and lost his battle with cancer on June 24, 2026 in Cumming, Georgia. He was the beloved first-born son of Gerald Vernon Drane and Winifred Dean Drane, both of whom preceded him in death.
Jerry received his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1975, and worked for the Holiday Corporation. He was a computer programmer and processor with Holiday Inns in Memphis. When Holiday Corporation was bought by Bass Hotels and moved its corporate headquarters to Atlanta, Jerry was retained and moved to Cumming, Georgia where he worked for Bass until he retired.

He had many other interests including nutrition, natural health, and enjoying his retirement.
Jerry leaves behind his immediate family of his sister, Karen Drane Busler (Dr. William J. Busler), of Bartlett, Tennessee, his younger brother, Windel Vernon Drane, of Memphis, and his dear friends in Cumming who loved him.
