Gertrude Childress Haun

Gertrude Childress Haun, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the age of 93. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Gertrude was a lady ahead of her time. She began as a bookkeeper for the Bank of Sharon in the small town of Sharon, TN, and through her hard work she was promoted to vice president of the bank, a position which she held for twenty five years until her retirement. She is predeceased by her husband Marion W. Haun, her son Robert Joe “Bob” Haun, and her brother William P “Bill” Childress. Gertrude leaves her brother Robert “Bob” Childress, her step-sons Gary Haun, Johnny Haun, Craig Haun, a step-daughter Debra Haun, her grandchildren Jody Haun Brown, Larry Haun, John Haun, her step grandchildren Cara Lois Harrington, Erica Sue Huff, Brynna Lois Davis, her great grandchildren Jane Haun, John Haun, Bryce Haun, Cash Haun, her step great grandchildren Riley Harrington, Marianne Harrington, Charlotte Huff, Elodie Davis, a daughter- in-law Cindy Haun, and a host of nieces. The family and friends will gather from twelve thirty until service time at two’ o clock, Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, with internment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Any memorials made in honor of Mrs. Haun may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
