Gloria Jeanne Reed Zotkiewicz, 85, passed away on June 23, 2020. She was born on May 8, 1935 to Harrell and Emma Reed in Memphis TN. Gloria was a graduate of Messick High School and lived most of her life in Memphis. She retired as an Accountant with Davidson Hotel Company. After retirement, she volunteered as a tutor with the Memphis City Schools - Our Children, Our Future program. Gloria continued to work part time as an accountant for two people that she dearly loved, Anita Santucci of RE Enterprises and Patti Phelps of Phelps Security, Inc. Gloria had an adventuresome spirit, loved to travel, and had a strong desire to help others. She was highly involved and found great joy in Prescott Baptist Church where she was a member for over 35 years. Gloria was very involved in the ASWA (American Society of Women Accountants) and local political campaigns. She was preceded in death by two of her sisters, Jacqueline “Jackie” Gandy and Beverly “June” Sanders; her daughter, Janet Theresa Allen; and her niece, Sharon Sanders Trimnal.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister Rosemary Stafford (Irvin) of Carlsbad, CA; her son James Michael Zotkiewicz (TrezMarie) of Metairie, LA; four grandchildren: Meredith Marie Zotkiewicz and Claire Elizabeth Zotkiewicz of New Orleans, LA, Jessica Leah Keith (Brian Long) and Robert Vincent Keith (Denise) of Memphis, TN; and two great-grandchildren: Caleb Alexander Keith and Dakota Blue Long of Memphis, TN; nephews: Jon Marshall Gandy (Alicia) of Savannah, GA, Jason Marc Gandy of Morganton, NC, Alan Marshall Gandy of Charlotte, NC, and Carter Stafford (Marci) of San Diego, CA; nieces: Joi Marshal Gandy of Memphis, TN, Virginia Stafford of Calgary, Alberta, and Ashley Stepter Haneghan (Bryan) of Honolulu, HI.
The family would like to thank Methodist University Hospital’s MICU and 7th North Tower, and Methodist Hospice Care for their kind and compassionate care of Gloria.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2020 from 10:00 to 12:00 at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. (Masks required). Due to the pandemic, a Celebration of Life Service will be postponed, time and date TBD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Gloria to WKNO Public Broadcasting, 7151 Cherry Farms Rd, Cordova, TN 38016, or Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America (National Office).
