Gregory Allen Haner, 62, of Memphis, TN, was born April 11, 1957 in Huntington, WV and passed away on June 11, 2019. He lived in Washington, DC, Jacksonville, FL, Atlanta, GA, East Meadow, NY and Memphis, TN. Greg loved sports. He was an avid Braves fan, whose life revolved around the Braves' schedule. He also enjoyed football (college and pro), basketball (college and pro), hockey and NASCAR. Yet Greg's greatest passion was his family, especially over the last decade. He was a devoted son, who lived with his mother Frances and his sister Jennifer. He loved being there for them both. He was also a good brother, uncle and friend. A simple man, Greg gave himself and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who might need it. Although he was a man who preferred his solitude; Greg was intelligent with a quick wit who was fun to be around. Greg worked at a number of jobs until a series of health issues forced him to medically retire. He especially loved his time at Hunter Fan, Exxon and M&M couriers. Greg is survived by his mother, Frances Haner; his sister, Jennifer Williams; his brothers, William Joe Haner, Jr. (Janet) and Charles "Dave" Haner (Robin); nieces and nephews, Michael Haner (Nat), Kim Brooks (Vaston), Andrew Haner (Yasmin), Liz Johnson (Adam), Joshua Haner (Carla), Christopher Williams (Ashley), James R. Haner and Shawn Williams (Victoria); six grandnieces and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, great cousins, many friends and loved ones. Greg was preceded in death by his father, William Joe Haner, Sr. He will be missed by all.
