Harry David Brown has entered the glorious presence of our Heavenly Father. His was a long and rewarding life for which we give Thanks. Forever loved and in our hearts. David was a native Memphian and graduated from Westwood High School in 1969. Joined the Airforce in the 70’s where he was stationed in Alaska for 18 years with his wife Susan and raised their one and only Son Jeff. David was an avid fisherman and loved to play sports of all kinds all his life, softball in particular in his 20’s and 30’s.
David was a trusting person, sometimes to his detriment. He always valued the advice of his brothers though. He was his Dad’s “favorite son” because he was easy going and more compliant than Wayne and Steve. That was the essence of his nature. He didn’t want to make waves, just wanted to be nice and for others to treat him the same way. His quick smile and kind nature were what endeared him to so many.
David’s Mother Mary recently said “He was a gentle person. Everybody liked David and David liked them. He was a good son. He would come and sit down and talk to me. Steve and Wayne had to work long hours, so he knew that, and he would spend extra time calling or just sitting with me”
David leaves behind his devoted Family; Son Jeff, Daughter in Law Erin, Grandchildren Austin and Kayla and High School Sweetheart and 1st Wife Susan Brown. His beloved and endearing Family Members; Mother Mary, Brothers Wayne and Steve, Sister in Law Jennifer and Nephew Wesley Brown as well as Nephew P.J. Hughes.
Family and Friend too many. Stranger to No One. We will miss him immensely and will forever cherish his memory. I Love You Boyhead / Browndawgg!
A private family service will be held at Memorial Park on January 20, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity in his honor. A celebration of David’s Life Event, is planned for May 2021 in Memphis, TN Details forthcoming – God Bless
