

Harry Edward Peel III, 54, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at his home due to health complications. Mr. Peel is a Memphis native and is survived by his son, Ryan Peel and his daughter-in-law, Chelsea Peel. Additionally, he leaves behind former wives Annemary Fox and Sherri Jackson and half-sister Marilyn Webb. His parents, Reba Montgomery Peel and Harry E. Peel Jr., and also a half-brother, Dwight Montgomery, preceded him in death. Mr. Peel was a devoted father to son Ryan, and was eagerly looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild, Phoebe Beth Peel. Harry (aka Barry Whitehaven) was a prominent Memphis musician. In the early1980’s he was a member of such iconic local bands as The Riverbluff Clan, Beanland, the Jimmy Davis Band and John Kilzer’s band. In later years, he was the drummer for incredible talents such as Susan Marshall, Ross Rice, Patrick Dodd and Eddie Smith. Additionally, he was a session percussionist on many recordings coming out of the Memphis Music Scene. Memphis Funeral Home 5599 Poplar Avenue will host a celebration of Harry Peel’s life on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. in the Life Remembrance Center.
