

Melvin was born to parents, Hayward Johnson and Geneva Conger of Omega, Georgia. He attended James S. Rickards High School in Tallahassee Florida. Following high school, he began a career in the printing industry and retired from Metro Graphics. He is preceded in death by his wife Viccie Johnson of 27 years, parents Hayward Johnson and Ed and Geneva Curry, stepdaughter Alicia Musgraves, and siblings Larry Johnson, Milton Johnson and Shirley Kimbrough. He is survived by his son – Robert “Clay” Johnson (Dee), daughters – Carol Bernabei (Tony) and Mellisa Johnson, grandsons – Duncan Musgraves, Alec Johnson and Jared Johnson, granddaughter – Kali Adams, brothers- Aaron Johnson, Charles Johnson and Eddie Curry. Melvins legacy will live forever more in those whom he leaves behind.
A memorial service will be held on June 3rd at Boulevard Baptist Church with visitation starting at eleven in the morning, followed by the memorial service at twelve noon. Boulevard Baptist Church- 885 Church Rd E, Southaven, MS 38671.
