Hazel Cox

Hazel Crawford Cox, born February 10, 1920, passed away August 6, 2011. She was a founding member of Raleigh Assembly of God Church. Her ministry to family and others was her cooking. The Sunday meal often included Millington servicemen and Teen Challenge Youth visiting her church. She was a faithful mother and homemaker. She is survived by her son, John "J.P." Cox (Bonnie); and daughters, Dorothy Cox Rutherford (Tommy), Judy Cox Baird, Lisa Cox Thomas (Jimmy); grandchildren, John Eric "Ricky" Cox, Emily, Christopher, and Jacob Thomas. She also leaves her brothers, William Crawford (Jean), Charles Crawford (Juanita) and George Marshall Crawford (Glenda); and her sister, Vasti Beene (Jack). The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 9, from 1 p.m. until the service at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Avenue. Burial will be in Memphis Memory Gardens.
