Howard Cleveland III

Howard Leon Cleveland, III, died January 28, 2012. Mr. Cleveland was very active and involved in his church, Second Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder, an Usher, a member of the AMEN Bible Study, the Head Elder of the Fellowship Congregational Community, a member of the Men’s Masters Luncheon and Visitation, a Vacation Bible School Volunteer, a Nursery Teacher, a member of the Mission USA Memphis Committee, City Serve, and Home Communion, and served on the Mission Trip to Cambodia. He was also a member of a small group accountability and bible study and participated in the Walk to Emmaus. He also served his community as a Berclair School Tutor and on the Board of Directors of the Neighborhood School. Mr. Cleveland is survived by his wife Pamela; one daughter, Amy Cleveland Shoaf (David); one son, Howard Leon Cleveland, IV (Cindy); one brother, Frank Cooper Cleveland; seven grandchildren, John Clarkson Shoaf, David Hudson Shoaf, Alexander Wade Cleveland, Elizabeth Camille Cleveland, James Daniel Channel, Shelby Corinne Channel, and Anna Camille Channel. Funeral services will be at 12pm, Thursday, January 31, 2013, in the Sanctuary of Second Presbyterian Church where Reverend Sandy Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family has requested and appreciates donations in Mr. Cleveland’s name be directed to Second Presbyterian Church or The Neighborhood School.
