Jack H. Sams of Lakeland, TN, born in Elizabethton, TN on August 21, 1936 to Fred and Stevana Sams, went to be with the Lord. Jack was raised alongside four brothers and five sisters. After serving his country for 3 years in the United States Army, he returned to marry his precious wife, Eleanor Sue Souder. Jack was joyfully reunited with their beloved son, Rick (Ricky Harold Sams) who entered into Heaven on July 3rd 2022. The couple were married for 65 wonderful years. He retired from the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers, was a devoted member of Macon Road Baptist Church and previous President of The Good Sam's Camping Club. Jack is survived by a loving family including his wife Sue, brother Bob Sams, daughter-in-law Pamela Sams, grandson Dustin Sams, countless nieces and nephews and many, many wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jack's favorite charity, The Ronald McDonald House of Memphis.
GOD SAW YOU GETTING TIRED
God saw you getting tired

As you slowly slipped away

We couldn't make you stay.

A visitation for Jack will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A funeral will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A rotunda service will occur Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:20 AM at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
