

Rev. James Carson Lovett, Sr., 78, of Memphis, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 27, 2016. The family will gather to receive friends on Friday, September 30, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Hope Baptist Church, 6800 Center Hill Road, Olive Branch, MS 38654. Funeral Services will held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, at Hope Baptist Church, and interment will follow at Blocker Cemetery in Olive Branch. Born and raised in Jackson, TN to the late Carson Jerome and Lillian Faye Lovett, Jim was an Ordained Deacon and Minister in the Baptist church. Over the years, he served as the Bus Director and Children’s Church Pastor at several churches. Mr. Lovett was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He will be missed by all. Our loss is Heaven’s gain! Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma L. Lovett; three children, Jimmy Lovett (Darla), Mike “Burr” Lovett (Jennifer), and Sherry Howard (David); six grandchildren, Natalie Jenkins (Andrew), Luke Adrian, Anna Grace, Caleb Alexander, Bethany Hope, and Kaylee Faith; 2 great grandchildren, Hallie Faith and Bella Grace; and his cousin, Martha Ray Boyd.
