James A. Poole Sr.

James Alton Poole, 87, was born August 26, 1923 in Dyer, Tennessee and entered into rest on May 2, 2011. He was a member of East Win Christian Church. He was a 59 year member and twice Past Master of Bartlett Lodge #211 F & AM serving in 1970 and 1997, he also served as Instructor and Funeral Master for many years.

He was Patron of Woodlawn Chapter 74 of the Order of the Eastern Star seven times and server as Grand Sentinel in 1999. Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn and his son James A Poole Jr. He is survived by his wife Phyllis and son, George Arthur Poole (Betty), of Memphis, two stepsons, Randy and David Boswell , ten grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren . Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday and Services will be at 10 am Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel followed by a masonic service and burial in Memphis Memory Gardens.
