James Sampson Skinner

James Sampson "Jimmy" Skinner died on August 3, 2014, after a short illness. He was born February 15, 1936, to Oliver H. and Sadie C. Fossick Skinner. He was a graduate of Memphis State (University of Memphis) and worked for several firms as a certified Public Accountant. For some years, he was a member of the East Memphis Exchange Club, serving as Treasurer. He is survived by a sister, Elizabeth S. "Betty" Porter and a brother, Oliver H. "Johnny" Skinner, Jr. He also leaves his niece, Patricia L. Elias and her daughter, Audrey E. Elias, and a nephew, Andrew T. Porter and his wife, Tresa and children, Hannah Patterson, Casey Beth Faulkner, and Ahren V. Porter. In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorials be made to Methodist Hospice Residence, 6416 Quince Road, Memphis, TN, 38119. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122.
