James Edward Tillery (Jim) 84 went to his Heavenly home on June 21, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anita Epley Tillery. Jim was a native of Logan County Kentucky. He graduated from Russellville High School, Russellville, KY.
Jim was in the Army during the Vietnam War for 2 years, He was a locomotive engineer with 48 years of employment with the Union Pacific Railroad and the L&N Railroad,
Jim had a positive outlook. He was handicapped and could not walk for many years. When he would get up each morning and look outside, he would say "Look at this beautiful day!!" He loved his church and family. Even though he had not been able to go to church for some time, he wanted to keep up with all of the church news and he read the church bulletin, and Weekly Announcements and Prayer Sheet cover to cover.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Leah Cooney and Andrew Tillery. He has two grandchildren, Sara Cooney and William Edward Cooney. He is also survived by one sister, Georgia Ann Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his mother Vera Mae Shifflett and stepfather George Shifflett and Father Carl Tillery, and his maternal Grandparents, Harrison and Beddie Edwards.
Memorial Service will be held July 29, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church, 3755 N, Germantown RD. Bartlett. TN 38133, visitation from 12:00-1:00 and services at 1:00 with Dr Lee Brand officiating.
