James V Walls

James V. Walls, age 76 of Olive Branch, died peacefully at his home Friday, March 8, 2013. He was born February 21, 1937 in Memphis to the late Joe V. Walls and Mable Helen Whittington Walls. Mr. Walls worked at Dyke Industries for 37 years. He was a Shriner for over 50 years, a Mason of the Alchymia Shrine Temple, member of the Scottish Rite and Trinity Lodge, and a member of the Capleville United Methodist Church. James never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Walls. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Betty Walls; seven children, David Walls, Kathryn Walls, Joyce Tayler (Tommy), Jessica Walls, Jamie Daniel (Bobby), Joey Walls (Anita), and Heather Powers (Chris); one step-daughter, Karen Abrams; one brother, M.H. Walls; 14 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren. Services will be 2 PM Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Family Funeral Care, located on Summer Avenue. Burial will follow at Autumn Woods cemetery in Olive Branch. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital.
