Janalda Jo Horn

Janalda "Jan" Horn, 84, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, her 84th birthday. Born in Ash Flat, Arkansas, Jan was the daughter of Wayne and Cecil Orr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Monte Horn, and her nephew Greg Osborne.

Jan is survived by her sister, Charlene Osborne; her nephew, Alan (Terri) Osborne; her nieces, Marsha (Christopher) Robinson and Cathy Osborne, the loving widow of Greg Osborne; along with many great-nieces and nephews, cherished friends, and extended family.

Jan and her husband, Monte, made their home in Memphis, where they shared a full and loving life. A devoted wife and homemaker, Jan was known for her warmth, kindness, and generous hospitality. She was actively involved with the Veterans Hospital in Memphis and the Paralyzed Veterans Administration and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. One of her greatest joys was cheering on the Memphis State basketball team, a passion she and Monte enjoyed together. Jan's legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St Jude's Hospital or the Veteran's Hospital in Memphis in Jan's memory.

A visitation for Jan will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. The burial will take place at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
