Janet Elizabeth Milewski

Janet Elizabeth (Domin) Milewski, 73, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital on May 19, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob; her sons, Bob Jr. (Debbie), Scott (Belisa), and Keith; 9 grandchildren; and her sister, Susan. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend. Family was her number one importance in life, making sure we all were together during the holidays. Janet loved baking for the family, emptying the Costco shelves and bringing it all to the lake. She always said, “It’s for the grandkids”. She was active in her church (Germantown United Methodist Church). Singing has always been a passion, and she loved singing with the church choir both here and in Baltimore, MD, where she met many great friends. Once we moved here to Memphis, Janet worked for State Farm for a few years, however her kids were her priority. As the kids moved out she became a secretary and account payables clerk for a feeding company and then a paralegal secretary for an Elder Law Firm. Once she finally retired she became very active with her church and on the side, she was part time helping her son with his company and his paperwork. She was involved with Habitat for Humanity for 10 years as a Volunteer, Teach One Treasurer for her Circle group, and volunteer for the Backpack ministry. She would go swimming at the YMCA in the mornings, and as years past, she started a little coffee get together once a week/month. She would knit / crochet a blanket for each one of her grandkids. The beach was her other favorite passion and being by the water/ocean. We can picture her now sitting on her favorite Scarborough Beach watching the people and boats go by. Memorial Services will be held at Germantown United Methodist Church (GUMC) on Monday, June 20, 2016. The family will gather to receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., until the service at 11:00 am. A reception will follow, at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the GUMC choir or Missions.
