
Jean Lois Downes Rose, widow of Charles Leon Rose, passed away Thursday April 20, 2017 at the age of 95 years and 8 months. Mrs. Rose is survived by her three sons: Michael, Chris, and Mark; four daughter-in-laws; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and her sister Catherine Elaine Downes Looney of Proctor, Arkansas. Her marriage to Charles lasted sixty-four years. During the first thirty-two years of marriage, they moved thirty-four times. Mother’s passion in life was oil painting, specifically still life and scenery. Converting in the early 1950’s, Jean Rose was a devout Catholic, making multiple pilgrimages in America and to Europe given her devotion to the Blessed Mother. She is a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Germantown, Tennessee. She and her late husband were avid travelers both during and after his time serving in the military. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 11 am at Blessed Sacrament Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
