Jeanette Bell Lenahan, widow of Dr. Lewis Stanton Lenahan, died on March 7, 2024. She was 102 years old. Originally from Memphis, TN, she moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 2001. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Red Hatter Society, and was an avid Square Dancer for many years. She was a great animal lover and volunteered in the “cat room” at The Ark in Huntsville.
She leaves a sister, Ann Bell Brown (Charles) of Olive Branch, MS, a son, Patrick S. Lenahan (Kat) of Collierville, TN, a daughter, Kathleen Erwin (Scott) of Huntsville, AL, 8 grandchildren: Aimee Cooper (Johnny), TJ Small (Barbara), Will Erwin (Matthew), Jake Lenahan, Michael Lenahan (Brittany), Margaret Ivie (Steve), Josh Lea (Mandy), and Sam Lea (Donna), 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
Visitation will be in Memphis on Tuesday, March 12 from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel followed by a graveside service and burial next to her husband at 1:00 PM, in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, The Ark at 139 Bo Cole Rd. NW, Huntsville, AL 35806, or the charity of your choice.
