Jennifer Bodie Daniel

Jennifer Bodie Daniel passed on July 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after complications from kidney disease. The doctors, nurses, and staff at Methodist University Hospital treated her with the utmost dignity and respect during her illness and in her death. They all admired her for how strong she fought, as does her loving family and friends.

Jennifer’s warm spirit never met a stranger and was always there for her friends, family, and the friends of her daughters, Elizabeth Jane and Caroline. Her house was always open, and she loved to host, creating an environment that left you feeling like you were at your most comforting loved one’s home.

Born in Birmingham, AL on Dec. 21, 1954, Jennifer has always been described as a very warm, loving, and loyal person. Her family moved several times in her childhood before taking roots in Memphis mid-summer of 1967. She attended Germantown High School until 1972, when City and Shelby County Schools divided. She graduated from Ridgeway High in 1973.

She had a talent for many things, which she displayed in the floral shop and gift shop, Down to Earth, that she had with her mother for some years in Germantown, TN. She then became a valuable member of Bodie Rickett and Assoc. until 2004. She had many interests which she was able to incorporate into freelance work following. While she had many passions and interests, nothing came close to how she loved being a mother. Her girls have been her world for 39 years.

She leaves behind many friends and adoring family: Elizabeth Jane (Wes) Fowinkle, Caroline (Jesse) Meekins, her father Bill Bodie, and 5 beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jane Bodie, nephew, William Thomas, and brother, Bill Bodie Jr.

Her body is free from illness, allowing her spirit to dance through the streets of heaven with those who have gone before her.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Emmanuel Methodist Church. The family will greet friends and family from 10-12, with a service immediately to follow at 12:30. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, family welcomes all who want to join.
