Jerry Mac Williams

Jerry was born January 27, 1944 in McNairy County, Tennessee and graduated from Selmer High School in 1962 where he joined the Army National Guard for six years and was honorably discharged.

Jerry went on to further his education attending Memphis State, Jackson State and Southwestern and became a certified electrician.

Jerry worked as an independent electrician and had his own company for several years. Then Jerry worked as a master electrician for The Bryce Company for 24 years prior to retiring in 2008.

Jerry married Gail Washburn Powell in 2013. Both of them being huge Elvis fans, it was only fitting that they were married in the “A Elvis Chapel” in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had two Chinese Cresteds, Sassy and Sinner, that were his precious girls.

Jerry loved traveling and visiting museums and battlefields. He and Gail enjoyed plays and concerts at the Orpheum and Bartlett Performing Arts Center. While traveling, he always enjoyed trying local restaurants that were off the beaten path. Jerry also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and golfing.

Jerry was a member of Crossway Cowboy Church in Brighton, TN for many years. Due to health and the distance from their home, they recently had been attending and joined Ellendale Baptist Church in Bartlett.

Remaining to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife, Gail; Goddaughter, Stephanie Stevens (Michael); aunt, Shirley Hammons; half sisters Mitzi Foust (Rick) and Laura Feldworth: fur babies; Sassy and Sinner. Jerry also had many special bonus grandchildren and great children he adored.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Alva D Williams and Clarice Blondell (Johnson) Williams; two sons, Brian Williams and Shane Williams; brother, Johnny Williams; half brother, Scotty Castile; and fur babies, Carly and Stormy.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life for family and close friends at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made in Jerry’s memory to Crossway Cowboy Church in Brighton, TN or Ellendale Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN.
