Jesse passed May 29, 2025, at his residence. He was born May 11, 1933, in Memphis and later served in the Army as a qualified Parachutist until he was Honorably Discharged in 1955. Steamfitter by trade, Jesse was a 75-year member of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry, and member of the Steamfitters Local Union 614. A passionate aviation enthusiast, he joined the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) in 1959, building his own Experimental Aircraft biplane “Starduster II”. He was an enormous World War II history buff, with a particular fascination for the aircraft, and the pilots who flew them. Jesse always had a project going, he was an avid reader, and had a tremendous sense of humor, playing small pranks and joking with those around him. He also found joy in the kitchen and loved to try new recipes and feed his family, friends and neighbors. Later in life, he found relaxation in RV camping and enjoyed learning to navigate the great outdoors.
Jesse was so loved and will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 54 wonderful years, Dianna Denison; daughters, Denise Michael and Sharon Walker; son, Bobby Elam, and grandchildren, Lauren Hammer, Jessica Morreale, Chaffee Elam, and Anna Nicole Elam.
