Jimmy G. Cushman "Papa Jim"

Jimmy Glen Cushman, transitioned peacefully to his eternal life on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Jim (affectionately known as Papa Jim), was born in Calhoun City, MS on February 7, 1939 to the late Gavin Glennard Cushman, Sr. and Louise Mosley Cushman. After high school, he joined the army, serving in Europe, but stationed mostly in Germany. He moved to Memphis in 1960 and proudly joined the Memphis Police Department in 1968 and retired after 26 years of service. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Peresotti Cushman, his son Gavin Cushman, grandson Anthony Cushman, bonus daughter Ann Marie Peresotti and brother Gavin Glennard Cushman, Jr. Papa Jim will be greatly missed by his brother Billy Mosley, bonus daughter Denise (Ed) Crawford, seven bonus grandchildren: Heather (Jeremy) Craig, Michael (Diane) Crawford, Christen Gowens, Maria Crawford, Chelsey Walton, Alex (Nicole) Walton, Jonathan (Kelsey) Crawford; four bonus great grandchildren: Zach (Rachel) Craig, Brianna Honshell, Ava Crawford and Brentley Walton; two bonus great great grandchildren; Logan and Colins Craig as well as several nieces and nephews. Papa Jim had a special place in his heart for family, especially children, so please send any memorials to St Jude, Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House or Make A Wish. The graveside service will be Monday, December 21st at 11am at Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, TN.
