Our beloved mother, Jo Ann Barry Cummins, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 8/31/2020. A pastor’s wife, she was devoted to her family and friends but most importantly to Jesus. Her unconditional love was showered on her family and everyone she met. She was generous and kind, faithful in support of the Lord’s work, a diligent student of God’s Word and a mighty prayer warrior.
Her smile was contagious, and she was always ready with a word of encouragement. Her life as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend was simply a reflection of God’s great love. Jo Ann was a faithful friend to many and lived a life exemplified by joy and thoughtfulness to others. While she worked for many years as a Purchasing Agent at the University of Memphis and at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences, she will be most remembered for the lives she touched and her personal witness and love of Jesus Christ.
May we all strive to follow in her footsteps!
Jo Ann is pre-deceased by her husband of 41 years, Reverend Daniel N. Cummins, Sr. She leaves her son, Daniel N. Cummins, Jr. and her three daughters, Cindy Boone (Allen), Cathleen Harris (Barry) and Cheryl Cummins as well as nine beloved grandchildren: Brent, Brooke (Justin), Brian (Alisha), David, Andrew (Elizabeth), Megan, Neal, Mathew and Ava Grace as well as seven precious great grandchildren: Bella, Dylan, Neely, Beau, Scarlett, Amelia and Hudson.
