

JOAN BERRYHILL CLARK was born January 4, 1934 and passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2014. She was 80 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents John Elmon and Lillie Belle Berryhill, her sister Lola Gay Berryhill, and her loving husband of 54 years, William Donald Clark, retired Captain of the Memphis Fire Department. Joan was born and raised in Hamilton, AL and moved to Memphis, TN with the love of her life in 1960. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Joan and Donald raised three children together. When she wasn’t busy with her husband and children she spent her time cooking, sewing and working in her award winning garden where anything she touched flourished. Our holidays and special occasions were always filled with her famous chocolate cake, homemade peanut brittle and her beautiful decorations. Joan leaves three children: son, William D. Clark, II and his wife Renee; daughter Jana Allen and her husband Fred; and daughter, Lili Turner and her husband Rick. She also leaves four grandsons: Hunter Clark, Ryne Clark, Andrew Allen and Will Turner. She was also expecting her first great-grandson, Cooper Clark on October 15, 2014. Joan leaves a brother, Jerry Berryhill and her devoted caregivers Kenya Davis and Jennifer Perkins who thought the world of her and her of them. She leaves behind a giant hole in many hearts and will be dearly missed. Fly high mom - you and dad are together again!
