JoAnn Ferrell Garner

Joann Ferrell Garner, 67, of Hernando, MS died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at her home. The family will receive friends Friday, March 25, 2011 from 5 – 8 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens – Poplar Chapel. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2:00 at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Interment will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens. Mrs. Garner was a longtime member of Whitehaven Baptist Church and most recently Hernando Baptist Church. She graduated from Whitehaven High School and attended Memphis State University, Draughon’s Business School, Union University, and Blue Mountain College. Mrs. Garner was a Self Employed Medical Transcriptionist. She loved spending time with family and her grandchild, was very active in church, taught Sunday school, and took care of others. A talented pianist, violinist and singer, she was a humorous, caring & loving person. Mrs. Garner is survived by her husband John Lee Garner Jr.; her children, April Denise Garner of St Louis, MO; Michael Andrew Garner of Hernando; Anthony Christian Garner and Addam Ferrell Garner both of Austin, TX; a daughter-in-law, Jamie Renee Garner; a grandchild, Noah Ferrell Garner; her mother, Helen C. Ferrell; and her brother, L.D. Ferrell Jr. Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Lewis D. Ferrell, Sr. The family requests that memorials be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
