John B. Beasley, Jr.

John “Jack” B. Beasley, Jr. of Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2015, at age 97. A WWII veteran of the Army Air Corp, he dedicated the majority of his life to the cotton industry on Front Street. Jack was a well-loved member of Buntyn Presbyterian Church, where he humbly served as Elder for multiple terms. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Minor Martin “Mary” Beasley, his sister, Peggy Brown, brother, Ed Beasley, and the love of his life, Elise Terry Beasley, his wife of 69 years. Jack is survived by his son, Joe Beasley (Anne), grandchildren, Donnie (Dianna), Jason, and Michael (Rebecca), great-grandchildren, Olivia and Ian, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, at Memphis Funeral Home 5599 Poplar Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, at Buntyn Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, but memorials to Buntyn Presbyterian Church are appreciated.
