

John Reginald Holman, 72 passed away December 22, 2015 at his home in Germantown. He was born February 15, 1943 to John Holman and Christine Roberts Holman in Mineola, Long Island NY. He graduated from Stamford High School in Stamford, CT; he was a six year veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a Bolswain Mate 3rd class. John’s passions were his love for family and friends, riding his motorcycle and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a former owner of Cycle Supply, a retired Shelby County Park Ranger and a longtime parishioner of Church of the Holy Spirit. He is preceded in death by his parents; he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maryann Holman; sons, John Michael (Penny) Holman, Timothy Joseph Holman and Jason John Holman; grandchildren, Jacob and Margaret Holman, brother, Frederick (Susan) Holman; brother-in-law Robert McNamara and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday December 26, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Church of Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest, Memphis, followed by Mass at noon. A reception luncheon will be held after mass in the Batson Center. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mr. Holman may be offered to Catholic Charities, Veteran Services, 1325 Jefferson Ave., Memphis, TN 38104.
