John Blake Wendt

John was born in Toledo, OH on June 18, 1944, the son of the late Blake and Mary Wendt. His midwestern education included De Vilbiss High School and the University of Toledo.

Along with his parents, John was also preceded in death by his brothers Howard and Tom Wendt. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cecelia Wendt; three sons, Raymond (Mae) Wendt, Arthur (Stephanie) Wendt, and Matthew (Heather) Wendt; six grandchildren, Ava, Luke, Alex, Jackson, Connor and Hayden; sister, Darlene Wendt; two nephews, Mark and Doug Wendt; and niece, Deborah Wendt.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 22. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. immediately following the visitation. All services will be held in the Life Remembrance Center of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.

The family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Louis Catholic School or Methodist Hospice Residence, both in Memphis, TN.
