John ("Jack") M. Williams passed away Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, in Memphis. Jack was born May 13, 1933, in lovely Granville, Ohio where enjoyed an idyllic childhood before completing his undergraduate study at Denison University. He later obtained an MBA at the University of Memphis. The majority of his working years were spent in senior management in the feed manufacturing industry. He thoroughly enjoyed finishing his career with several years as General Manager for Caribbean Broilers Ltd in Kingston, Jamaica. Jack took great joy in life--he was fiercely strong-willed and open-hearted, generous and kind, and possessed a powerful sense of humor. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, and he enjoyed his family tremendously, delighting especially in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He cherished his wife Doris George Williams and missed her terribly after her passing in 2014. His years in the military, first as an active duty member of the US Air Force and then serving in the Air National Guard, meant a great deal to him. He was an avid fan of music and participated as a member of the Farmington Presbyterian Church choir and the Germantown Chorus. He enjoyed golf, and was a runner for many years. He was a long-time member and Elder at Farmington Presbyterian Church. He volunteered for several charitable organizations including Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. Jack was cheerful, confident, handsome, and faithful--he will be so greatly missed. Mr. Williams is survived by his sons, Russ (Josie) and Allan (Susan), his daughter, Lauren (Trent), as well as one sister, Pat Burkhardt. He also leaves to cherish his memory, five grandchildren, Bailey, Scott, Grace, Owen, and Fletcher, as well as four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Holten and Taytum. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, May 11th at 2 p.m. at Farmington Presbyterian Church with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
