
Joseph “Jay” Redding Williams, IV, 51 of Lakeland, TN passed away peacefully at Regional One Health Center on April 2nd, 2016 with his mother and close friends at his side. Jay was born to Joseph and Joan Williams of Fort Myers, FL on July 10th, 1964 in Knoxville, TN. In 1971 the family moved to Cincinnati, OH and then in 1974 moved to Memphis, TN and Jay went to work for the Commercial Appeal in the advertising dept. where he received salesman of the year. After that, he spent several years in Fort Myers, FL working in the security business but decided to return to Memphis where he lived and worked until his fatal accident on March 31st. Jay loved cars, motorcycles, boats, dogs and especially family gatherings. With his good looks and great sense of humor, he made many friends everywhere he went. He will be greatly missed by his parents, his sister, Cathy Mullings and her husband Douglas Mullings of Fort Myers, FL. Cathy always said, “My little brother always took care of me.” He is also survived by his great-aunt, Jean Cobb and several nieces of Columbia, SC and his nephew Christian Woodend of Tallahassee, FL. Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. is in charge but a private family service will be held at a later date in Fort Myers, FL.
