Joseph Max Knose II

Born on September 1, 1953, Joe was a man defined by his strength, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to his family. He worked hard throughout his life to provide for those he loved, always putting family first. While many knew him for his strong personality and passionate spirit (especially for his Indiana Hoosiers) those closest to him knew the depth of his kindness, his sense of humor, and the quiet ways he showed his love every day.

Joe grew up in Indiana. He went to college at MTSU where he played tennis and was Vice President of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He served as a Colonel in the United States Army while stationed in Germany. After college, Joe moved to Memphis and worked at Goldsmiths. He later built an international executive search firm, Corporate Image Group, where he was recognized internationally for his achievements.

Joe took great pride in being a father and a grandfather. Whether it was early mornings, long days, after-school activities, or simple stops for treats along the way, he made sure his family felt cared for. His love was constant, practical, and unwavering. His family was not just a part of his life; they were the center of it.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Franklin Knose; his siblings, Ted and Rebecca Knose; his children, Shelby (Mike) Blaylock, Joseph Taylor Knose, and Sydney (Adam) Flanery; and his beloved grandsons, Max and Grant Blaylock and Brooks and Reese Flanery.

All services will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 19, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary service at 6:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, at 1:30 p.m.

Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we find comfort knowing that the love he gave us, the lessons he taught us, and the example he set will remain with us always. His greatest legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply. Joe will be remembered for his strength, his devotion to family, and the steady presence he was in the lives of those who loved him.
